Running for the phone

1. Long shot :
This element is used on Latika when she is running (combined with the tracking shot)
to the phone. It changes its view, from behind here, to along side her. This element
is used to raise the intenseity of the scene, wondering if she is going to get there
in time or not. It creates suspence, doing it great as it does.

2. Cross cutting:
This element is used alot in this scene. Its cuts between the different characters
(Jamal, Latika and Salim). This is a "climax" moment, because you unsure
what Salim's doing and if Latika is going to answer the phone in time. Its used
to its full use, and very well done.

3. Tracking shot:
The tracking shot is also used on Latika, also when she is running for the phone. It
show here mainly from behind, running very fast.

4.Music: The music element in this scene is used to great effect. The only music used
is that on the phone (Salims ring tone) but it stays in your head even tough you only hear
it afew times.

5. Close-ups: A close-up element is used on Jamal and Salims face during this scene. It shows
the difference of there face. Jamals face is tense, seeing as hes unsure whether anyone will answer. Salim is relaxed as he washes his face. When Latika answers the phone, Jamals face turns from shocked (hearing her voice) to relaxed.
